It’s no secret that many women go to painstaking lengths to keep themselves well-groomed down there. Perhaps a little too well groomed, according to a new article by the New York Times, which claims, yes, the Brazilian bikini is officially out of style.
“In certain corners of Manhattan,” the story reads, “the bald look of the Brazilian has become déclassé, more suggestive of a naked Barbie doll or a reality television starlet than an organic lifestyle of cold-pressed juice and barre classes.”
Citing gynecologists, salon owners, and even celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Lady Gaga, the NYT reports a full bush of pubic hair is steadily gaining associations with a natural, more womanly figure, as opposed to “a stripper or a kid.” Still, others disdain the trend for “getting in the way” of more — ahem —appealing parts of the female anatomy.
Maybe one day we’ll care as much about female pubic hair as male facial hair, a.k.a. zero fucks a.k.a. just the right amount.
