Sometimes, people just want a good old fashioned cuddle, sans oysters and bananas. It’s a simple thing to yearn for, but in a dating pool fraught with expectations, asking a stranger to come over and “cuddle the fuck out of you” will most likely end the conversation. Luckily, there’s now an app for that.
Created by three grown men, Cuddlr displays the photos, names, and ratings (users can upvote or downvote fellow cuddlers) of users near you. Once you tap on someone’s photos, a cuddle request is sent to them and they have 15 minutes to either reject or accept your invitation. If they hit accept, the app shows you real-time walking directions to your cuddler of choice and arrangements can be made to meet up in a private or public location. What happens once you do meet up, is entirely up to you.
The app touts:
Unlike some other apps, Cuddlr is strictly about PG-rated experiences. Keep the cuddle a cuddle!
Like its less platonic cousin Tinder, Cuddlr requires a Facebook account to register but omits age and gender to set the platonic tone. That’ll do it.
