Sure, you turn a mean joint, but a tuna roll? You might need a few pointers.
Green Labs, a co-working space in Denver, now offers a class that teaches you how to roll both sushi and joints. Why?
“When you can roll a joint by hand and it looks perfect, it’s a nice skill to have,” Brett Davis, Green Labs CEO, tells the Cannabist. “And rolling sushi is just fun.”
The first class sets to open post-Valentines Day on February 20. So, what does a educational class on sushi and joint rolling entail? The course description reads:
Spectacular views from their rooftop deck, a dream kitchen and plenty of loungin’ around space.
An intimate night filled with wine whilst creating fresh sushi and rolling the finest joints. 20 seats make for a relaxed, social Friday evening.
At $65 a class, everything is included — papers and sushi fixings — but the weed. Students are encouraged to bring their own favorites to enjoy onsite and Davis claims that the price is competitive next to local sushi-only classes, sans joint-rolling.
While Davis won’t be instructing the class (he’s had years of experience with one technique but not the other), there will be two experienced restaurant professionals and an employee from a partnering dispensary.
As seats for the 20th fill in, the Cannabist reports that Green Labs is already prepping additional classes including how to pair different marijuana strains with wine and coffee. This is one class we recommend showing up on time for.
