NAMED the Cadbury Creme Egg Milkshake
MADE OF vanilla ice cream swirled with cheesecake batter, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup and chopped up Cadbury Creme Eggs. The towering milkshake comes topped off with whipped cream and garnished with 2 split chocolate eggs, their gooey caramel insides spilling out. It’s so good and damningly addicting that you’ll forget this isn’t even the main course yet.
FOUND on the corner of 184th and Gridley in Cerritos, one of those part industrial-part suburban cities in between Los Angeles and Orange County. Like the city, Stacked’s exterior blends two different sentiments. Sleek copper tiles are contrasted by psychedelic stain glass windows and the restaurant’s toony logo looming over the entrance.
Inside, the sun pours through the windows, regurgitating red, yellow and purple light on everything inside. It’s a bit trippy at first, especially when the smell of fried onion rings and grilled burgers adds another layer to this kaleidoscopic episode. Also, each table comes with a shiny iPad that does everything from letting you order and customize your meal to calling over your waiter with the press of a button. Jetsons meets That 70’s Show meets modernica. Is this the future of food? If the future tastes like drinkable Cadbury eggs, then we’re not mad in the least bit.
